February 22, 2014 The Sunday Whirl/ Spring

Wordle:  eggs, trust, test, not, high, course, peep,
mug, trial, form, bring, blown, stick

Spring
Candy eggs
Sugared peeps
A mug of chocolate
Marks a sacred day
A day of reappearing
Rebirth
Regeneration
This day goes back
To ancient times

It is spring
A time of
Renewal
The difficult trials
Of winter
In the rearview mirror
Behind us
There is trust in
A new beginning
High above
Birds fly
Build nests
For new life

Drop seeds into
The ground
A test
Bulbs that have been
Dreaming deep
Send new shoots
Of green to the surface
Just beginning
To appear
The remains of snow
Have been blown
To other seasons
Temperatures mild
Bring thoughts of
Summer

Note:  I am in the feeling of spring, the sun shines, and new growth appears.  It is warmer now.  Though we still shiver, and remark about how cold it still is, when the cold winds blow.    There were two words, 'not, and stick,' just didn't seem to fit, did not fall into place.  Perhaps I will return with an idea….perhaps not.  I will accept what Spring brings, in life and in my poem.

Oh I love the bulbs that have been dreaming deep! Here we had NO winter and just when we were anticipating spring, SNOW has come - late, but definitely here.

Another 'journey of life' treatment here Annell - this time through the seasons - you're first poet so far to go with the egg- Easter - Spring connection, which feels especially good to me today on a mild late winter Sunday with the bulbs now beginning to poke through... Annell, while I don't go through the seasonal changes here like in the states, there is a similarity. Yes, this is lovely and not using two of the words, matters not. I didn't use 6 or 7 of them.

Love,
Pamela

i am anxious for spring...for putting hands in the earth
for birthing new life...for feeling the sun on my skin
and burning.

I like the idea that the remains of snow have been blown to other seasons. I certainly hope they have been blown to spring and will soon be responsible for the growth of those bulbs that are resting beneath the surface. It has been a long winter.

We often forget the once earthy hardship of enduring winter and the utter joy of spring bringing hope again, and full bellies and sunshine.

Thank you for pulling us from the present and pointing us in that hopeful direction of candied eggs and peeps.

Annell, we had no winter here and were feeling unscathed, ready to leap into spring, when the snow suddenly came! But I remember the feeling of those green sprouts showing up...it wont be long here, either. I love most "Bulbs that have been
Dreaming deep
Send new shoots"...lovely.
