June 24, 2014 dVerse/ Whole Again

Whole Again
What is it to be whole again
When broken into pieces
Fragments of who I was
All hopes dashed
The world too hard
The prince is dead
Where do I go from here

Hail a new day
The sun comes up
Hope restored
The storm has passed
Spring is in the air
The promise made
The promise kept

Sadness lifted
Celebration kindled
You were here
I knew you
You blessed by life
Your passing will not kill me
I am more because of you
I am still here

i'm glad the light of a new day is shining.. it is tough when all hopes shatter and we realize how fragile life is... spring and kept promises are balm for the soul..

The best way to deal with a parting like this must be that to bring forth all the blessings your time together has brought you... somehow those gifts is the strength to carry on and continue to grow.. love the image of daybreak to capture these feelings.

I am glad that you are getting better....painful and sad but also grateful for being more because of your loved one.

So correct - lovely phrasing - we cannot fill the loss but we can cushion it with hope, joy, love, understanding, creativity, and generosity. Your art always accomplishes that! Good to see you again.

To see the gifts in those blessings! How brave, Annell! "I am more because of you. I am still here." He would want this for you. Beautifully written, my friend.

Grief and loss, and then recovery and appreciation. A lovely write.

I find a pattern in this, almost like your art, that makes it feel like it could be put to music. How many times we must become "whole again."

Very nice Annelle. In thinking of what could shatter my world I too thought of a significant death. I think you captured it well--the healing is rather mysterious.

Reminds me of the song by Sara Brightman, I think, "Because you Loved Me"..the form is very effective here.
