An Evening Out
Voices raised in Evensong
Day is done
Twilight near
Angels play hide and seek
Among the clouds of gold

Fly low
Descend
Play among the lesser folk
Kiss babies
Bless the sick and the old
Tuck in the children
Read a story book
Say good night

Evening out
A barfly flutters in the night
Drawn to the light
The tavern old
A tired display
Have a drink
Celebrate the day
Be my baby for just
One Starry Night

Wow, how precious the gold, the painting, the memory, the tone of gentle longing in a place to remember. This brought a tear.

"Be my baby for just one starry night...." pings at the heart, my friend. I do love that starry night and the beautiful painting. Until I read the inscription I thought it might be one of yours! I love Vincent's night sky.
