November 17, 2014 Writers Digest/Monday's Perfect Poem

Monday’s Perfect Poem

a new beginning promised
                                    yesterday erased

the little details are the first to slip from our grasp
                                    soon who can remember

the loss is felt
                                    always will be

the scars are evident
                                    the healing begins

can we think of anything that is permanent
                                    even the mountains are crumbling

the day begins
                                    the evening comes

there are no real beginnings
                                    only cycles

like the ones we ride
                                    wheels spinning

the wind in your hair
                                    a young boy again

time slips by so quickly
                                    embrace this day

                                                                 already slipping away

So powerful, Annell, the image of the young boy, today already slipping away. Even the mountains crumble........especially love "there are no real beginnings, only cycles." Beautiful work, kiddo!

'can we think of anything that is permanent
even the mountains are crumbling' ~ good reminder to appreciate every little detail on our way... ~ there are always 'a new beginnings'

Opportunity comes only once. Must take them to heart and profit by them. Not to let them slip away! Great lines annell!
