Shimo No Koe -- First Frost's Voice/dVerse

Shimo No Koe—First Frost's Voice

The first frost of this year is yet to come.  We inhale, hold our breath and we wait.  There is nothing more magical than to awake to the first frost of the year.  The sun sparkles on every crystal.  Each seems to point to the other in awe of the spectacle.  Soon enough, the frost will melt, the song will end, wilted blooms appear.  Nothing as beautiful as before the frost.  A sure sign winter is not far off.

Voice of the first frost
Sparkling crystals sing
Winter is on the way

We are singing a similar song today. This is sublime.

Tis a marvelous haibun--good on you for noting the transient beauty without disregarding its role as harbinger.

This is wonderful, and I do agree with the beauty of that first crystals appearing... glorious unless you have to commute.

How lovely the idea of crystals singing. Our waiting is past.

Love those singing crystals, Annell!

Beautifully descriptive. The squirrels know it's coming, and they're so busy hiding their winter snacks!

I too love the singing crystals and the beauty of them through your artist's eyes. I love first frost..

Both the first frost and later the first warm snow that clings to trees come as sudden changes of what has been building up for a while. They are memorable.
