We See A Wonderful World Before Us/ Sunday's Whirligig --We Leave Traces in Our Wake/The Sunday Whirl/ Wordle 320 -- Poets United Poetry Pantry

Sunday’s Whirligig

We See A Wonderful World Before Us

life is not to be endured                  rather to be lived                  in gratitude

we are given much              perhaps yesterday was         a missed opportunity

tomorrow you will have          another chance         sometimes the way is not clear

but given time          and a new perspective                     we see with new eyes

a different path appears        not the old dusty road       we have been traveling

we do not accept the petty hate     of the patriot            we stir the cauldron

chant the old chants            of the ancients                      the future is our vision

we are told                    it is too late         yet, we see a wonderful world before us

We Leave Traces in Our Wake

my path is a mystery                 i don’t know                and know that i do not know

the winds of change                 swirl around me           a storm on the horizon

there are signs of danger ahead             we each struggle           to know

to understand                           …and yet…                 we continue to travel

the road we are given               we lift each foot           and place it on the path

leaving traces                           in our wake                  we list the possibilities

we live on the fringe                our power is limited     we look to the stars for inspiration

I love the path we all have to travel... we can make choices but not always know how our choices will change the results.

Both of these poems speak to me of hope. May the stars guide us to that wonderful world we can see before us and may we be grateful for the one here today. Lovely writing.

I love your first poem - so positive. We have been given much and are meant to live in gratitude. It is a beautiful world and can be even better if humankind can muster the vision. In your second poem, I so resonate with feeling the winds of change all around us, yet we keep putting one foot after another, making our way through........I love your closing line, using the stars for inspiration.

The two pieces flow beautifully together. I especially love: 'we look to the stars for inspiration' ... We can only do what we can do. We carry on. We endure.

I like the optimism -- indeed we should not merely ENDURE life, but LIVE it. Each day is a treasure.

Stirring the cauldron with the chants of the ancient... like that!! Maybe that's the only way forward, to take a step back.

Very sane insistence that many may miss in extending gratitude for Providence's support and blessings! Great write annell!

Your poem for Sunday's Whirligig is exceptional. This morning, after reading all sorts of depressing things in the New York Times, it was refreshing to come here and find words of hope and encouragement. Now I can make it through the rest of the day. Thank you!
