A Happy Accident/ The Sunday Whirl --Snow at Last/Sunday's Whirligig --Poets United

A Happy Accident

Is it now           as it was in the beginning          all a happy accident

or intelligent design      someone’s song            matched perfectly

to the sound of the garden chime         all irregularities soothed over

a plethora of variety     each groove endless     nothing final

change is everywhere   each moment unique    and each has its own void

the sponge itself           creature of the sea        created for its own special purpose

its shape                       size and color               not to be confused with vinyl

none are without interest          each one unique

 Snow at Last

The snow that welcomes winter            is at last here    covers everything

In a glittery blanket          all is new again         it has been a long time coming this year

My breath freezes before me    the windows are frosted           looks like a mirage

I am under its wintery              white spell        mornings gentle breeze whisper

Winter secrets              bear has already entered his cave          hibernates

Last night’s moon         encircled by silver wreath         my footprints deep in the snow

How perfect it is when the songs match the wind chime.

Marvelous and new:
"the sponge itself creature of the sea created for its own special purpose

its shape size and color not to be confused with vinyl"

and "Winter secrets"! Each of the moment, each a beauty. I love each season for its secrets and footprints.

sponge and vinyl, there is room for all of it. You're first poem brought up so many ponderings. The second one was like the slate was washed clean.

So beautiful....i can see the snow, bringing stillness and ice to the desert.

I enjoyed both of this pieces. I like to think of happy accidents as one of life's little gifts and thus, was pleased to come upon a poem that pondered that lovely serendipity. And the "Winter secrets" was also a treat ... so beautifully rendered and, for me, very evocative.

i enjoyed both pieces.
'a happy accident' reminds me about taking a photo and everything, light, focus, object, all fell in place. a truly perfect snapshot, your poem. :)

Although I hate the cold and stay way from snow, I like to read about your snow: you make it sound so beautiful and peaceful.

I believe in an intelligent design which allows for "happy accidents" – much as the orderly symmetry of fractals nevertheless has randomness built-in.

Snow in the desert must be an amazing sight! And, as for a happy accident - or an intelligent design - I wonder that oftentimes as well about the universe & .....everything!
