Spring Garden/dVerse

Spring Garden
Yellow my favorite color
In your hand a bunch of daffodils
The same color as sunshine
The taste the color of lemons
Planted in the fall
To return each spring
A ruffle around the throat
Welcomes me home

Lillian as host of dVerse today, posted some images from which we were to choose one.  I selected the bunch of yellow daffodils, in memory of my garden of other years.  This year we have gone to zero scape, and now it is rocks.  It might take a while to get used to.

ok....while I was sending you the photo over messenger in your FB account, you got it posted! So ignore my message if you get it. I so love daffodil. Enjoyed your post very much! My mother used to have a flower garden in the very back of the yard and a rock garden on the side of the house. I think she actually "worked in" the rock garden more...arranging and rearranging. The only flower she had in it was moss rose...and they would creep about the rocks and only open in the sun :) Ah....thanks for the memories!

I don't think I could get used to just rocks. I hope you get your daffs back soon :)

Well, there are the years when we have the energy to garden, and the years when we prefer the Zen simplicity of rocks. I miss the ring of daffodils that grew every spring around the trunk of the giant maple in my yard when I still had my trailer. So lovely.

Beautiful, Annell, especially:
'The same color as sunshine
The taste the color of lemons'.

We are waiting for daffodils here too... soon they will come, hopefully...
A ruffle around the throat and home - delightfully described.
I love yellow flowers, even the wonderful blaze of dandelions before they turn to pesky - but equally beautiful - parachutes.
Lovely Annell.
