IT IS NOT A PLACE/ dVerse

IT IS NOT A PLACE

It seems to me
“Man” is a tiny demy god
He points and names
He feels superior

Because he has claimed
Some site sacred
Builds his church
On the ruins of another’s

For me
I have but to step outside
Look east
The rising sun is a celebration

At my feet
A sage brush struggles to hold tight
To soil where another will not grow
My kitty with his tiny voice
Calls my name

I am blessed
I live in gratitude
A tiny bird with red head
Sings a new song

It is not a place for me
Every breath is sacred
Something we share
All life is sacred

"All life is sacred"
Knowing you're an artist, I'm not surprised that you are able see the creatures of the world in this light. Still, I am happy when I see someone declare it. Thank you, Annell.

True, all life is sacred, and nature is beautiful. One can encounter the divine in nature; I've had that experience.

Being able to witness some of nature's small sweet miracles does feel like an act of holy communion.
