June 14, 2015 Sunday's Whirligig/Afternoon Thunderstorm--Poets United Poets Pantry #256

Afternoon Thunderstorm

thunderheads bank against the mountains        the storm is on the horizon

underbellies of the clouds...     blue                    expectation fills the air

rain drops appear on the windshield            what secrets spilled with the rain

gossip passed in the garden       a poem spread before you         whisper secrets

speak gently                  all is bathed in the rain...              i think of you

Rain can be both tears and joy.. but I guess it always evokes memories.

I am sure that rain can spread a lot of secrets....rivers of them perhaps!

There is something magical in a summer rainstorm especially when the black clouds roll in and the sky pours out in all its fury!

This feels like a single drop of rain being heard above the chaos of a storm..a beautiful and touching piece... xo

Rain can either be a hellion or a healer. In this case, I think it is the latter, for it has invited the speaker to think of one special person in a deep and significant way, to remember that person's gestures, intonations and facial tics; to wash away falsehoods about that person and see him/her in the light of truth and love. See what rain can do? A lovely poem, Annell. Thank you.
