The Songs of the Crickets -- Are Silent Still/Imaginary gardens with real toads

The Songs of the Crickets – Are Silent Still

When you ask for something specific
All thought is thrown out the window
Perhaps there might have been
A thought earlier…or not

The morning surprised me
The big yellow sun
Came through the window
With its bells and charms

Awakened me with a start
I think I was dreaming
Swimming in a salty bay
The water blue as your eyes

And here you are
You and me
All is quiet
No big blue sea

No brightly colored floaties
No children around my feet
No laughter in the air
The shame-faced crickets

Dressed in black
With their insistent songs
Are silent still
Summer will come soon

THE TREASURES OF MY LIFE/ Poets United Midweek Motif - Treasures

THE TREASURES OF MY LIFE

My life is full of treasures
They are not silver or gold
My health is good
I can still see the world before me

Filled with treasures
I can think
My thoughts are full of treasures
I can speak of these treasures

My life is good
A special someone I love
A beautiful kitty I love
An elegent creature
Friends I cherish

I have my work
I am blessed with treasures
I cannot think of more I would ask
There are treasures that have tumbled

From my bundles strapped to the camel
Treasures I could not keep or hold
Perhaps as we travel further down the road
What we have, are the treasures we need

Spring Garden/dVerse

Spring Garden
Yellow my favorite color
In your hand a bunch of daffodils
The same color as sunshine
The taste the color of lemons
Planted in the fall
To return each spring
A ruffle around the throat
Welcomes me home

Lillian as host of dVerse today, posted some images from which we were to choose one.  I selected the bunch of yellow daffodils, in memory of my garden of other years.  This year we have gone to zero scape, and now it is rocks.  It might take a while to get used to.
