To My Dear One/dVerse

To My Dear One

Much has happened since you went away
I still regret you couldn’t stay
Hold you in my memory
And you remain my love to me

The sun shines most days
Many more times than rain
The black cows are still in the golden fields
The skies are still that incredible blue

The winter seems to have been mild
With very little snow
We still talk about you most everyday
Do you remember the little black dog

And the way you cocked your sailor hat
Or that cowboy outfit you liked to wear
Our path was not always smooth
There is no one I would have liked better to share it with

So much love in this letter...the sky is still blue...the little back dog...life goes on. Things come and go but still, your love is still in your heart and memory.

Nice letter missing a dear friend. I liked the lines about the Sun shining more than it rains.

Remembering the little black dog...one can feel the compassion and love in each line.

Your letter poem is so poignant, Annell, and memories of childhood friends, or is it a sibling, are always precious.

Loss always remembers...

This is a sad, sweet, touching. The details you mention are more poignant than a more direct declaration of loss. Artfully done.
