Wednesday, Septemer 18, 2010 One Shot Poetry, Autumn

http://oneshotpoetry.blogspot.com/

Autumn
Oh.............
My favorite time of year,
Off to school
Pack my things,
--in memory of course --
Projects began or draw to a close.
Time for unexpected things.
The first frost
-- comes in anticipation --
Drives in the country,
Camp-outs,
Hikes,

Dig out warmer clothes,
Achu, achu, allergies abound,
Even though my nose needs a Kleneex,
My eyes have so much to see!

Monday August 16, 2010 #228 VIEW/ #129 BEGINNING

Prompt #228 - View

Sunday Scribblings
On Monday
Provide a different view.
Just enough to allow
The tea to cool.

Hi all! First of all I just want to apologize for the delay in posting this week. It's not because I wasn't trying! For some reason Blogger and my computer aren't getting along, so if I am delayed in the future, hang in there - I'm probably sitting at my computer willing it to log in!

The prompt this week is: view. What's the view from your window? What's your view on life? On the current world situation? What's the best view you have ever seen? Had? What's your dream view? Have you expressed your views?

Prompt #129 BEGINNING

Beginnings.......
Can sometimes
Be false starts,

Cross out,
Erase,
Change,
No, go back,
Edit,

Not all beginnings
Lead to the proper
............................endings.

Tuesday July 27, 2010 Second Day of the Last Week of July

This morning is overcast, the sun is only beginning to break through the cloud cover. It's a little cooler than it has been because of the rains we have had. This is the view I see each morning as I go from the house to the studio and later, from the studio to the house.

I am facing the studio. The portals allow us outdoor living space, when I take a break from the studio.

I planted this Russian Sage when it was a tiny plant, and it has grown to be a giant! But the color is lovely, and the bees and humming birds love it.

The stones that we laid, are cracking, and probably need to be replaced?

This pile of rocks are rocks I have picked up on our hikes. As our friend, Glenn-- who is gone now, but remembered often, said, "They are just nice to have around." Like old friends.

I got these three pots, and keep wanting to plant them....maybe someday I will, when I know what I want to plant?

This is the view from my studio.

In a way this courtyard is the center of our lives, we come and go-- to and from the house and the studio. We often spend time on the portals, sometimes at night we have a fire. There are so many things I would like to do with the garden, all the while keeping it simple. It is my idea of a Southwestern Zen garden. It is a work in progress, as is everything else that is here, including myself and my work, but I wanted to share it with you. Even though I don't think it is complete, we can enjoy the view of the landscape, looking down on the village of Taos. And the sky is forever changing, through the day into night.

Friday July 16, 2010 Hope Begins in the Dark

You say hope begins in the dark. Was it a dark birth on a dark night? Or did hope just appear and cause an eclipse of the sun and plunge the whole world into darkness? Or does hope wait for you in a shady glen?

When you saw hope for the first time, did you just know that if you took him in, found a place for him, he would be the stubborn staff you would need in the lean times? He would provide the strength that would be needed as you kept watch thru the night and that he would be there when the dawn broke in the morning? That he would be the substance and the song? That he would provide the question and he would provide the solution? That he would be familiar and that he would give comfort?

Sometimes you would feel his fingers upon your face, reading your emotions. And you would remember he was sometimes spoken of as blind. He is with you.

He would quiet the dogs and give bones to the children and his advice was simply to wait, count the minutes, count the hours, wring your hands.

He would say, "Just wait," "Wait until nightfall," "Wait until the dawn." "Wait, wait, wait." "Do nothing, just wait."

At other times he would say just, "Keep working."

And when all energy was spent what ever will be is. And last but not least, he will say, "Never give up!"
