NaPoWriMo Day #16

Spring Day

Full of light
No flowers
Plants that have been
Resting all winter
Push through the soil
Garden is filled
With new beginnings
And weeds
The returning pair of
Fly catchers weave
Their nest

In spring it is said
"A young man's
Fancy turns to love."
I say, "In spring
We put away our woolies
Open the windows
And sing!"
Say goodbye
To another hard
Winter and all
That is cold
Snow and ice cicles

In the distance
A hot air ballon
White with blue
And gold trim
Rises above
Taos Valley
Where the red
Willow grows

At this early hour
All is quiet
I read your post
Send my energy
Across the mountains
To embrace you

Think through
Plans for this day
Look at the broken ties
Contemplate the
Needed mends
Consider the stitches
Cross stitch or blanket
Good for frayed edges

Listen for your waking
Look ahead to
What will be done

A certain sameness
To what I do
Yet it is spring
And I sing
In New Mexico
The blue sky
Is filled
With balloons
Sad clowns return
leading puppies
On a string

I LOVE this, Annell! It is glorious, and joyous. We "open the windows and sing!" Yes! Love the image of the hot air balloon over the valley "where the red willow grows". Beautiful!I so love the ending, where the sky is filled with balloons and clowns lead puppies on a string. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hotsy-totsy!!!! as my mother used to say!!!!

Glorious, vibrant with life and new beginnings. Each day a wonder onto itself. Yes, off with the woolies and on with the song.

I like this part of the verse "Send my energy
Across the mountains To embrace you" To write something like this one has got to be inspired. That happened to me when I was in Argentina. I had rented one of those Buenos Aires apartments and from the balcony i was able to see the whole city. Its beauty really inspired me and I would write on the balcony every sunset.
I loved it!
