Ojo Sarco
The desert echoed hot
Sun from above
We climbed to the pools
Beads of prespiration
Sparkled upon our bodies
Removed our clothes
Slipped into the
Pool cupped in the rocks
The water's icy cold fingers
Embraced my body
Taking my breath
The water gurgled
As it dropped from
The pool above
To the next below
Ojo Sarco, blue spring
Reminds me of hot afternoon
Cool water in
Secret pools
Hidden in the rocks
Relief from hot desert sun

Annell, you make such a wonderful place for a traveler to take a well needed break. Thank you,

SO beautiful, words, place and photo.......the desert looks so amazingly green!!!!!! Just lovely, Annell. It felt like sinking into a cool pool myself, reading your words.
Simply beautiful, Annell.

Annell, even though it's still "as cold as charity" here in Madison, this brought back those hot days in California. Your use of "secret pools/hidden in rocks" was especially graceful.
Glad to see you at Writer's Island!
