March 19, 2014/ We Write Poems, Mid Week Prompt/ Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday!
Let’s celebrate today
No it’s not my birthday
And since we share birthdays
It’s not your's
But it’s someone’s
There are new arrivals
Everyday
What harm to light
A candle
Dance and sing
Bow in appreciation
Look around
Make a reconnaissance
See where you are
Let’s have a pink cake
And ice cream
With a cherry on top
Let’s celebrate
Happy Birthday

This is a cool take on the prompt - it is always somebody's birthday. Love that thought!
