Fragments G&C #155 30"x30" gouache on w/c paper
I Cried Out
I am alone
Crying
Regularly touching my eyes
Yesterday I cried aloud
I gathered the tears in a bucket
Drained my heart
Ordinarily I hold my breath
Under threat of losing control
Today I gave up
I cried out

and sometimes you just need to take the reins off and let go...and let it out....before it drowns you...
Annell,
And I think that both body and spirit are refreshed by a bout of crying, letting go and then replenishing one's attitude..

holding your breath will not do any good...so, yes, release your worry
I do understand this. Sometimes it IS hard to hold everything inside, and one HAS to cry out!!
So relatable, Annell. I like the directness of this piece.
And this poem, now, gives others permission as it amazes at the need and action.
This is how grief catches us, and we must let the tears fall. I like especially "I gathered the tears in a bucket". Good one, Annell. And after the tears - comes the rainbow, and a lift of the heart.
I love the emotion of this piece. Very expertly conveyed. It is simple yet could move worlds:) Well done.
'I hold my breath'...is good but 'Today I gave up
I cried out'...is way better..a great relief it is. wonderfully expressed.
And crying out helps us move on. A powerful message.
