Secrets of a Clever Gambler
Take a chance
Place your bet
Clever gambler
That you are
Streets swept clean
Apples ripe on the tree
Stars blink bright
Flesh raw
Men that are not free
Fill the basket
Put away the saw
Shake hands
Work together
Build a nest
Of flesh and bone
Throw the dice
Count the dots
On ivory
Black on white
On ivory
Black on white
Take a chance
Place your bet
Clever gambler
That you are
Prompt: chance, nest, secret, clever, swept, ripe,
blinked, stars, basket, flesh, saw, hand

"Men that are not free" says a great deal about these gamblers. Well-penned, Annell.
I never would have thought of gambling... how creative you are, Annell!
Yes, so very creative and the repetition mirrors the throw of dice - Wonderful :)
life is a gamble and a chance...there is inherent risk to it...
but hopefully the gamble s on community and working together...
I like that you begin and end with the same lines. It gives a rhythm to your poem.
There is a change of style in this piece which gets right to the double six..but still leaves me thinking of who is the gambler..
Well done! I too like the symmetry with the repetition of the beginning and the end.
build a nest of flesh and bone...such an amazing, powerful visual! lovely work!
