The Sunday Whirl: Prompt: country,
facilitate, aspect, sent, strands, state,
sustain, write, time, plans, embrace, juggling
sustain, write, time, plans, embrace, juggling
A
Country of My Own
A
place where I belong
A
state of serenity
With
time to write
A
picture to paint
Making
plans
Embrace
what is
Put
the vacuum away
And a
thousand
Other
things
Each
day
In my
pocket
Folded
small
An
envelope
Of
blue
A
handmade
Valentine
Sent
Out
of season
Your
heart
Given
Beating
still
Sustains
The
beating
Of my
own
My
life a circus act
Under
the big top
Strands
of golden hair
Flying
through the air
Greasepaint
A
juggler I am
Juggling
what is
What
could be
What
never will
Note: My poem found its' end, and I found I had not used all the words....they didn't seem to belong in my poem.

STUDIO VISIT: SHEILA MILES
www.artistmiles.com Santa Fe, Multi-media Artist and teacher at the
Desert Academy.
...it was a warm January morning. She turned
the key and opened the door on a warm and light workspace, her studio.
Paintings are everywhere; different ideas, direct expressions, which are never labored over, but retain the freshness of the first touch of the brush as it meets the canvas.
Sheila says she loves to paint, has to paint. Begins her work without a plan, simply paints, ideas come and often she paints over them. One piece may have many paintings, painted over. She never really knows where a painting might be going.

There really IS so much to juggle in life. I suppose we each perform in our own circus act at one time or another, whether we consciously intend to or not. And sometimes our acts, as your poem, find their end......at just the right time!
again, i love the look in on the studio and at the art....
how much of a treat it would be to have time to write and just be...ha...
love the thought of a valentine out of season as well...it would make it all the more special to me...
Your heart
Given
Beating still
Sustains
The beating
Of my own
I love those words. Your studio is lovely, Annell. I sure would love to visit.
Especially like "my life as a circus act" :)
I'm with you- put the vacuum away! You've given me an idea to purchase extra valentine's and send them randomly through the year.
I love that little blue envelope..I think it will be treasured..a studio..a place in your head where you can retreat from the world is very special..I think too much planning does sometimes ruin the outcome! (Either that or I am very lazy) :)
Hi Annell, I especially liked:
"Your heart
Given
Beating still
Sustains
The beating
Of my own..."
Thanks for this knowing piece - With Best Wishes Scott www.scotthastie.com
Annell, you take the ordinary and it extraordinary here. Well done.

I like this a lot. There's so much to juggle!
I would have to echo Pamela here, you hone in on small details and make them come to life, breathe, even sing of love and life well lived,

Memories, mementos, and the constant juggling of our lives. How well you recounted their influence but it was the strand of golden hair that was so poignant to me.
From the painting one sees an artist that allows free flow to determine the directions. This can result in lots of possibilities and make the result boundless. Thanks for sharing annell!
