February 7, 2014 Red, Yellow and Blue

Imaginary Garden with Real Toads  Prompt:  Write something inspired by Laurie Anderson.

Red, Yellow and Blue
Color Sharkey’s day
Heartbreak is
When we don’t
Get what we want
To cure heartbreak
Is to want what we have
What we are given
Our own blessings
Lightening strikes
A door opens
All wounds are healed
The sun rises
Above the mountain
We have one more day
To get it right
We give ourselves
Heart overflows

Note:  I saw Laurie Anderson perform many years ago, I remember it as if it was yesterday.  Thank you for the prompt.

Brilliant observation in the repetitious round-about Laurie Andersen was so good at too.

I love Laurie Anderson too. Love this poem - to cure heartbreak is to want what we have. The secret of happiness in a nutshell, my friend.

As long as that one more day opens anew... we might get it right... it's worth trying.. not giving up. Love the sentiment here.
