Broken Dreams
a woman
wanders...
... through her life
... negotiating customs and traditions
...examines the
architecture
... inspects the underlying structure
...so much forgotten
...she stands separate
from the past
... remembers little
...her life is here
...in this moment
...in
this city-of-now
... holds love sacred
...with tremulous
hands
...she opens the letter
... that holds her future

Interesting. Makes me wonder about the nature of the letter. So many notices in life from the tax bill to medical. I hope it was not bad news.
the last two lines bring us back to the title...so poignant...
oh, my heart stops, waiting for the letter's contents!
Thank you, my friend. Having recently walked through just such a moment, I'm grateful to know that I am not alone,

Yes, I held my breath, wondering at the contents of the letter. I really like the "city-of-now".
I think there are moments when everything changes.. those turning points.. those sliding doors.
I have been examining the architecture and inspecting the underlying structures myself lately....I love the present moment of these words...the hope in the letter.
I like how you have incorporated past, present, and future into this poem. The ending is suspenseful. I wonder what the letter holds!
Nicely done! Full of emotion and tension.
I hope that letter holds a bright future...i love how you have composed this...refined to essential thoughts..
Thank you so much for reposting my poem!
So open and suspenseful.
So much truth in this--I like the list format.
