Tuesday September 21, 2010 Afternoon in Taos

Monday as I worked in the studio, I was aware there was a lot going on outside. Like a child -- without a sound -- seriously building sand castles to fill the sky. I had not really taken time to see, but at the end of the day when I left the studio, I was amazed! When clouds build up, they become a pallet, that catches every color of the sunset.

You live in the best sky country...so many sunsets that are truly spectacular shows! A wonderful ending to a studio day would be to just 'take in' the sunset!

Great photos! I loved the lines "When clouds build up, they become a pallet, that catches every color of the sunset." I lived by the Tetons and completely agree with you. :) R

love when the clouds build up like this - especially like the last pictures - it makes me feel so small below those majestic clouds

Annell - so beautiful. You managed to capture so much of a sky I feel I own a part of. We have good skies here at the beach but lately they've only been layers of gray. Getting a little sun at last today but what you captured was spiritual.
Thanks, Gay

Nature's pallet is so immense. We try to recreate but can fall so short. Beautiful photos.

The skies in the West are among the most beautiful anywhere. Nature's palette indeed.
