Friday 12, 2010 Challenge 12/ Forget What They Said

http://blog.writersdigest.com/poeticasides/2010/11/12/2010NovemberPADChapbookChallengeDay12.aspx

Things to Forget, And Things to Remember
Forget what they said,
They said you couldn't be a writer.
You were not tall enough,
Had no imagination,
Couldn't spell.

Forget what they said,
You couldn't be an artist,
After all you were the
Girl next door.
You were a woman

Forget what they said,
When they said, you
Couldn't fly.
Your only limits are
Your own thoughts and beliefs.

Remember instead,
Yes, I can!
You can do anything,
Be anything.
Say it everyday.

Oh my, there are hieght limitations to be a writer. Really good thing I never knew it, lol. And I certainly agree with your last stanza, actually the whole poem tickles me and makes me smile. You've got it right.
