Tuesday January 11, 2010 Magpie #48/ River of Stones

http://magpietales.blogspot.com/

Step Over the Tidemark
Sing to me,
I will sing to you,
We will sing together
A cappella,
In a foreign key,
Known only to me.

Write the music on the page,
Make the notes white on white,
So tenderly,
Draw the clef so we can see.

Dance with me as we sing,
Step over the tidemark,
Skip upon the grave,
Listen carefully,
For the notes that are played.

De Capo,
Sing to me,
I will sing to you.
We will sing together
A cappella,
In a foreign key,
Known only to me.

Tuesday January 11, 2010 One Small Stone

Cinnamon and raisin toast for breakfast
Each morning unique,
The sun rises in the East,
Climbs over Taos Mountain
No two days the same.

Learning to live inside this one moment is difficult at times, but so worth the effort. And again, love the photo and your poem made my mouth water. Might be time to eat?

Such a beautiful photo. Early morning is my special time.
I like it how your breakfast stays the same, that the sun always rises in the east, but each morning, each day is so different, unique. I find this too.

Annell, every time I visit your blog I breathe deeply that clear desert air. I love both these entries. You have a gift of choosing just the right words and creating effortless flow with those words.

There's something very simple and elegant about singing a cappella.

Love the stones and magpie. Nicely tuned, both of them.
