Tuesday January 11, 2010 Magpie #48/ River of Stones

Step Over the Tidemark
Sing to me,
I will sing to you,
We will sing together
A cappella,
In a foreign key,
Known only to me.
Write the music on the page,
Make the notes white on white,
So tenderly,
Draw the clef so we can see.
Dance with me as we sing,
Step over the tidemark,
Skip upon the grave,
Listen carefully,
For the notes that are played.
De Capo,
Sing to me,
I will sing to you.
We will sing together
A cappella,
In a foreign key,
Known only to me.

Cinnamon and raisin toast for breakfast
Each morning unique,
The sun rises in the East,
Climbs over Taos Mountain
No two days the same.

i like how you pair constnats with the fact that each day is unique...
Learning to live inside this one moment is difficult at times, but so worth the effort. And again, love the photo and your poem made my mouth water. Might be time to eat?

Such a beautiful photo. Early morning is my special time.
I like it how your breakfast stays the same, that the sun always rises in the east, but each morning, each day is so different, unique. I find this too.
Annell, every time I visit your blog I breathe deeply that clear desert air. I love both these entries. You have a gift of choosing just the right words and creating effortless flow with those words.
nice. the addition of your magpie verse is lovely...and i would def want to sing and dance...
I loved your Magpie and the picture is just wonderful!
I love the desert and your poem... A perfect balance of living in the moment.

There's something very simple and elegant about singing a cappella.
Annell, your Magpie is magic this week ... singing in a key known only to me is brilliant!
lovely poem-
Love the stones and magpie. Nicely tuned, both of them.
Now you're talking my kind of music - a capella !
I love the idea of stepping over the tide mark to join in song.
A cappella,
In a foreign key
love that Annell...love your red shoes too...bkm
This post is such a treat. Gorgeous photo and magpie. And I enjoyed the stone and many other stones that I just read in my visit here. Your blog is so rich with goodies.
