November 1, 2013 2013 November Pad Chapbook Challenge

2013 November Pad Chapbook Challenge:  Day 1, Robert Lee Brewer's Poetic Asides Blog
http://www.writersdigest.com/whats-new/2013-november-pad-chapbook-challenge-day-1
For today’s prompt, write an appearing poem.

Fragments G&C  #165  30"x30" gouache on w/c paper

Waitng for the Image to Appear
It is early
Still dark outside
The minutes tick
The hands move
Slowly around the
Face of the clock

I arrive
Without an idea
Empty
And yet I have
Intention

The plane is white
Like unblimished
Snow
I make a plan
Set a goal

It is necessary
If I ever hope to
Cross the finish line
I must begin the
Race

Knowing
Nothing
Of importance
Happens quickly
There will be
Days when I will
Wonder
What is it
How will it look
And I will long
For the finished
Image

All the while
As I work
Days pass
Trying to remember
The best part
Will be the journey
Not the destination
The same
As in life
