Questions of the
Heart
lately i have had
many questions the big question mark hangs above
my head
why would a person
do something when their behavior seems so foreign
i have questioned my
own actions when the heat began to rise i stepped away
the answers form
slowly like opening cream colored envelopes
tied with blue
ribbons the years unfold memories appear
as if it all
happened today my love has grown you say we have grown
apart
how could this
be hearts entwined how is this ever separated
what was
mine taken away your eyes glittered
as you spoke unkind
words perhaps you feel you were torn
but still you
marched onto the battle field took no prisoners
i thought you knew
me the years say it is so
your words
say something different you show no mercy
all is quiet on the
western front my heart lies broken and bruised
the day you walked
away is burned there forever sometimes
there are no answers to the questions of the heart

Such a beautifully emotive piece :)
Lots of love,
Sanaa
I think it is possible for love to grow even after absence, though it's a polished-coin-cleaned-up-memory kind of love. How can the leaver show mercy? maybe only by breaking quickly? Hurt rolls through this poem.
"Sometimes there are no answers to the questions of the heart", especially when we dont know what is in another's heart.........I can hear the pain and bewilderment in this poem, my friend. A poignant write.
I sometimes think we can glimpse our own hearts when we are still--it is so hard to see another's --your pain is palpable --
incredible.
Opening cream coloured envelopes for the answer is an arresting image..there are indeed no answers for subjective issues...such as matters of the heart..and even if practically applied will it fill the void we al have within us? Another wise and powerful poem
Annell, it is hard when someone we know shows no mercy & leaves a person's heart broken.....with no explanation. The pain is palpable in your words!
Its amazing the heart continues to beat. I ask many questions about the heart.
This is so raw...hurt so imprinted on the heart cannot be forgotten.
powerful thinking.
