Reunion --Poets United/ Midweek Motif

Reunion

words spoken               heartbroken                 separation happens

a ritual of sorts             passions cool               the thrill is gone

what was before           absorbed into the ether    disappears

you return                    together again              broken ties

now mended                a patch applied             tiny stitches

cover the wound          healing happens           reunion occurs

I so know that feeling, the rupture, the apparent reparation, yet the wound is still there....and we go on...........

I like that the patch applied with tiny stitches can heal. That's so hopeful, though not without effort.

Nice Annell. Your poem makes me consider the inevitability of separation and reunion.

In a reunion definitely a broken tie is somewhat mended. It offers another chance for the patch up. Well put.
