Issa & Dumpalopapus/ dVerse

Today the prompt is an image created by Catrin Welz-Stein;  https://www.redbubble.com/de people/catrinarno?ref=account-Nav-dropdown&asc=

We were asked to select one image.  I selected the image of the cat and the elephant.(Since my computer is sick and at the hospital, I am working on my iPad...and don’t know how to post the image.)🤪 ⚙️🌋

ISSA & DUMPALOPAPUS

In early morning
My kitty, Issa
Sits by the door
Asks to go out

He even stretches up as far as he can
Stands on his hind legs
Reaches for the handle, as if to say
Here it is, please open the door

He trips out
Before the sun rises above Taos Mountain
In the dark he disappears
I have often wondered where he goes

You have given me a clue
He sails with his friend, Dumpalopapus
An old elephant with golden tusks
On his little perio

Do they travel to a far away land
Do they sometimes fish
And sometimes do they simply sail
On the little pond...go nowhere at all

Loving that third stanza.......and "tripping out." :)
And loving the names you've given here. Who knows what those cats and kitties do when they're on the prowl?? :)

How sweet! You just never know about a cat.

I've often wondered where cats go at night when they get done fighting in my back yard. That was a wonderful adventurous ride

Love the names you used in this, Annell. I picked this image as well. A wonderful adventure!

I like the idea of sailing and going nowhere at all.

What a lovely poem. Your cat is much more romantic than mine. I love that ending. So beautiful.

That's a cute story, Annel! I nearly chose that image as I love cats and elephants. The first two stanzas remind me of the older of my two cats, Luna, who does the same thing. I love the third stanza - we don't have any mountains near us in flat old Norfolk, but I also wonder where Luna goes.

Sweet poem! On your iPad all you have to do is take a screen shot of the image, then crop it. 😊

Sometimes we need to skim the seas without thoughts about destination.

There is always a mystery about a cat...why not an elephant companion? (K)

This is lovely. I can see him, stretching towards the doorknob, so smart!

i do wonder where cats and dogs go when they step out the door alone, and this sounds like a lovely children's story book adventure, they both sound like they have many secrets they aren't telling. really enjoyed this poem, whimsical pretty!
