April 3, 2014 Writers' Digest/ Prompt: A Message Poem/http://1sojournal.wordpress.com/

To my Mother
Eyes of blue
I miss you now
My love is true
You went away
As we all must do
Your life was long
I think of you

Friendship
You speak of magic
I roll my eyes
You show your teeth
And point to the ones
That show you are wise
Wisdom Teeth you call them
I look at the clock
I have time to spare
You come at 9:00
We follow the day
Through the hours
Together we whisper secrets
Share a bit to eat
Its been a long time
You say you want to get flowers
A birthday to celebrate
Another day older
A few more regrets
Together we celebrate friendship
Your gift to me
And mine to you
We count the days and hours
Since we met
You are first on my list
For this I have no regret

April 2, 2014 #1: NAPOWRIMO/ Language and Learn

 #1: NaPoWriMo Day 1
http://1sojournal.wordpress.com

Language
With language
I express my thoughts
Form words in my mouth
Roll them around on my tongue
Taste them
Spit them out
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

Words the puzzle pieces of language
Pen touches the paper
Moves loops and whirls
The dance of language
To make thoughts visible
For eyes to see
To read
To know what is on my mind
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

My words make the lovely paper
Intelligent
Send thoughts sealed in a letter
Created with strict marks and curves
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

Wind carries whispers like dust
Communicates thoughts of longing
Language of love
Language without teacher
Communicate to myself within Thee
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

The mountain on the horizon
Lost in wind and dust
Flags in tatters eaten by the wind
I listen...
Tumbleweeds roll
Tossed by the wind
Lodge themselves into sheltered places
Whisper words of longing
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

Words of warning on the wind
“Too Late”
Can you understand
The meaning of the language
Written with boney finger
Desert landscape
Global warming
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

Language of trees
Wind moves the branches of trees
Lonely landscape dancers
Push roots deeper
In search of water
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

Language of touch and sight
Without words
I place my hand in yours
You look into my eyes
I fall into yours
We listen to the wind
Carrier of whispers
Carrier of meaning
Universal Language
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

Entry for Day #2

Learn
As a species
We never seem to learn
Our doom is predicted
We continue down the same path
The temperature rises
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

We seem to have forgotten
How to understand the language
The words spoken
“Too Late”
Polar caps melt
We walk quickly down the street
Blow smoke

April 1, 2014 Writers Digest/Poets Asides/ Robert Brewer/ April PAD Challenge/ Beginning or Ending

Prompt:  Beginning poem or ending poem

Beginning or Ending
Two sides of the same coin
Always leaving change to spare
I remember the day we met
I was convinced I would
Remain in the ending of your leaving
For the rest of my life

We smiled at each other
Later I told a friend
I met a man
A very nice man
Never thinking
I would see you again
But still a very nice man

Weeks later I did see you
It was then
I thought I will see him again
Funny how sometimes it just seems right

That was seventeen years ago
A blink of an eye
As we measure time
Rolled from the coil
Ribbon of red
Flip of the coin
The day will come
When it all ends

It is inevitable
The end of me
The end of you
The end of all things
But no time for tears

It has been a good run
Filled with kindness
And smiles
That little crinkle
Around your eyes
That end that comes
Will come again

Beginnings and endings
Happen over and over
As long as we are alive
World without end
