The Owl Knows
The owl knows
The secrets you won’t share
The words you don’t choose
The reason why
The owl knows
The words you won’t utter
The things hidden
The reason why
The owl knows
The way you feel
Your history
All the way back
The owl knows
What you don’t want to think about
What never comes up
The reason why
The owl knows
The secrets of the forest
What is under each rock
The owl is wise beyond his years
The owl can be trusted
He will never share
What is yours alone
…the owl knows

It's always better to have trust on wisdom. Nice.
Thanks for your comment, Sumana.
Owls know a great deal. They are mystical beings. I am remembering, after my mother died, when I was driving towards her home, a brown owl flew in slow motion across my windshield, head turned, looking in at me. I could see her every feather, our eyes met. Time stopped. She flew into the forest, I kept driving........ I felt she was a messenger from the spirit world, she carried a message from my mother. I wrote about it, years ago. That was my best owl poem.
Oh, Sherry, what a magical moment!! Thanks for your comment.
I enjoyed this mystical poem, Anne.
Thank you for your comment, Vicki.
What great examples owls are for us. Clearly assessing each risk before flying off and most importantly not making a noise but going about things quietly.
I like the play on "The shadow knows"--old time radio. Of course, the wise owl, spirit bird of the night, knows better. I trust owls.
I love owls too and their silent splendour - apart from the hoots that is.
Wise they are or at least they give the impression of.
Love your words.

It so does seem that way... their eyes are truly mesmerizing!
