Winter/poets united midweek motif

For me, winter always represents
A world of white
A world of possibilities
A world of giving

A world of dreams
Sitting by the fire
The chores all done
The music of my heart

Fills the cold and crisp air
Like snowflakes dancing
As they fall to the ground
Transforming the world

No longer the bare trees
Who have lost all their leaves
Instead a fairly land
Of glittery branches

Winter is the time of promise
A time of contemplation
Spring will come
New life
And we can feel all is right with the world

The winter I describe
Is not the always winter
But the winter of my dreams
The winter I wish for you

Oh that last line is poignant. I, too, love the glittery branches and the beauty of a white coverlet over the land............every season has its beauties. I loved this poem, my friend.

This image of the winter with its comforts and beauty is refreshing in its scope and meaning.
I really liked the cozy atmosphere you have created in this verse. Winter as a time for contemplation and a waiting period before the spring comes is such a positive thought. The last couple of lines are beautiful.

This is truly key: "The chores all done"! Then the " music of my heart" can construct the world worth moving into, a world of dream that must, must, have a subtle influence on reality. Therefore the creative arts, right? And the Creator.

I love the contrast of the world of white and the world of dreams, the cosiness of 'Sitting by the fire / The chores all done', while outside the world is being transformed. The final stanza is very wistful, Annell.
