2017 November Chapbook Challenge: Day 12/ Writer's Digest Poetics Aside -- Poets United

Like the Caterpillar, I have Transformed

the caterpillar transforms                      from the little worm-like          creature

crawling across the garden floor           to the fantastic flying creature     with beautiful wings

as a butterfly                                        he dances and flits                   for all to see

settling on flowers                                drinking nectar                         like the caterpillar

i have transformed                               from the young woman            i was

to become                                            the woman                               i am

i have proven to myself                        by doing                                   it is not necessary

for you to speak for me                        i am in the studio each day       creating

the first hour spent writing                   the rest of the day                     i am painting

i can say without hesitation                   is am an artist                           i know my worth

all day spent problem-solving               finding answers                        expressing my truth

We all transform whether a butterfly or not. If we are comfortable with out 'truth' - then that is okay.

The finest of days are those spent creating, and expressing one's truth. Loved this, Annell.

We metamorph each day... just like that caterpillar... but deep inside we are the same.

You have described your transformation well. And what a wonderful transformation it seems to be. You are an artist..expressing your truth in words and paints. You are a very gifted woman!

Stunning! Stirring! When a woman's innate gifts, her life experiences and her passages come together and, ultimately, lead her to finding and embracing her talents and creating - there is nothing more glorious. I loved this!

To know one's worth is the most wonderful self discovery, a transformation indeed into a very confident being, a higher self.
