"Tricorn Black," the hat you wear
Growing up I had two aunts
Who made hats
And decorated them
Beads, flowers, feathers, and such
The "Raven Wing" is also black
A mere silhouette in the landscape
The raven collects shiny things
Meets early for coffee
Always has something to say
"Nevermore Grey" a time and place
From which there is no return
I have been there
I know
On its reverse there is joy
A storm approaches on the horizon
Survival unsure
Some call it a "Nor-Easter"
Some a "Norther"
It all depends on your location

Prompt suggested by Margaret, funny names for colors.

Funnily, I imagined each colour as a person that has met for tea and they were being described by someone covertly watching their meeting. You get a sense of more than just their colour.
I like the way you described each color, especially the third stanza.
I love love shades of grey and you have done them justice with your imaginative words!
Wonderful reverie inspired by colours. I wrote one but havent posted it.
the third stanza summons that moodiness we all know - intriguing 2nd verse with the coffee morning ravens
Love your approach. I can feel a paintbrush in this.
A wonderful take on the prompt!
"Nevermore Grey" a time and place
From which there is no return...
This description is especially apt.
The colors are portrayed beautifully in this, Annell!
Don't wear hats, but love trying them on. Really like ravens, but not coffee. And your third stanza hushed me to stillness. And yes, it all depends on ones location.
