Like a new kitten
Soft and warm
Usually attached to
The past
Either resent or long ago
An uncomfortable feeling
Like a rock in your shoe
You sit down with it
Familiar as an old friend
Talk it over
Hold it to the light
You pick the last feather
Bundle what is really yours’
There is a certain forgiveness
That is necessary
Important to stop
Punishing yourself
On the rack
Or on the stock
Answer honestly
Would you really have done it differently
…Probably not
Time to move on
Find other things
You can regret
Other things you can feel bad about
Beat yourself up
