The Vote/dVerse

The Vote

The vote was made
Signed sealed and delivered
Dropped into the box
In a wink of the eye
We will know
Either we like it
Or we don’t
The chasm appears deep
We swam in deep waters before
We lived to tell about it

I love the hope in this, Annell. May everyone use their voice, and then know that it's all going to be okay. We will live to tell about it.

We do swim in dark waters. Hopefully the waters will clear for us.

Thanks for the reminder that we have lived through this before and will survive again.

Campaigns seem too long and then are over so fast. You’re right, life goes on even in the worst of circumstances (my read anyway) All this to say I enjoyed your poem. Janice

Great close of this. We are holding our collective breath, up here in Canada - as I am sure many are, around the world. I just got off the phone with my sister (a call b/w British Columbia and Northern Ontario) and both TV sets were tuned to channels carrying US election results.

Thank you De Jackson , I tried to comment on your post, but wasn't able to. You captured the cafe scene perfectly.

Thanks for your comment Toni. It seems the waters will remain dark for some time to come. But as you say, they will clear a little!
