A Small Nest Found in the Grasses of the Dunes
Lost alone on a small island
Found a small nest
In the grasses of the dunes
The Englishman left his tracks there, too
Words fell from the cozy
Instead of tea
We toast and drink them together
Word play for lovers
There were no letters delivered by mail
Yet I read your words in the cloud-alphabet
I have only to look up
To remember your strong heart
It is said, the best is yet to come
I turn around and there you are
Hidden in the in between
Bedtime comes
Twilight remembers

How beautiful this is! The finding of the nest, the sharing of words, and, especially, how "Twilight remembers." That it does.
Yes, twilight remembers. I enjoyed your piece
A lovely write :)

Gorgeous and wonderful; I love it.
Sweet and uplifting like a spot of tea.
Love alone holds those memories and keep the loved ones safe within your heart. Beautiful poem.
This is beautiful Annell,

Forgive me when I say your poem makes being haunted by an invisible presence into a blessing. O, to still be hearing the words, to turn and find them there!
sometimes solitude is a good companion. i think "a small nest in the grasses of the dunes" is a very strong image. i find in this poem of longing a haunting feel to it.
This is a very beautiful personal and spiritual poem.I am wondering who that English man is. The beauty of a poem to me is to let it remain in mystery...no explanations:)
How beautifully this is written with that touch of sadness there as well.
Love the fact that twilight remembers.
