Second Place Rejected
Of course everyone knows
What is most important
But what is the second
(I try to look at that)
And everyone who wants
The second place
(As first place is already taken)
Crowds to the front of the line
Pushing and shoving
Trying to inhabit the same
Space and time
(Which never works)
And who wants to be second
No one really
Best to move on
Find the place you will be first
Find the person
Place or thing
Willing to make you so
Hold you in high esteem

This is so honest and drives home a deep seated desire in us all. Luv the striving most of all. It is so easy to cop out when rejection hits home. The striving is a dynamic of life itself
