THE WEATHER OF THE SEASON/Imaginary gardens with real toads

THE WEATHER OF THE SEASON

No, you never know
When it comes to the weather
Or at least
That is what people say In Texas
In Northern New Mexico
It is more predictable
Most every day is sunny
“Lots of sun”
“Mostly sunny”
“No rain today”

Spring is probably the most unpredictable
Of the seasons
Often there is a wind
A terrible tormenting wind
That blows dirt from the Mexico boarder
All the way to Colorado
Summers are brief
Just when you realize
It is getting warmer
Remove your sweater
Autumn begins
There is anticipation in the air
All is golden
The trees
The light
Memory

Winter comes soon enough
Transformation of snow
Winter white
Nestled by the fire
A hot cup of tea
Welcomes spring back again
With the weather of the season

It sounds perfect, though I imagine that high summer can be very hot in your part of the world.

What a lovely poem, sharing the unpredictable weather where you are. The seasons unique to place as they are,,,

You make them all sound good – though such brief summers must surely disappoint.
