A Prelude to a First Kiss/dVerse

A Prelude to a First Kiss

Soft strands of music
Waft across the mesa
Low beat of drums
The rhythm grew faster
A night like no other

At the end of the evening
You leaned forward
Lips missed their mark
It was a prelude to a first kiss

Smiling I am.....at the first kiss I ever had....a bazillion years ago when I was in 8th grade...we both had braces and he missed the mark when I moved my head quickly. Sheer embarrassment and then closed lips just pressed against my closed lips and feeling the lump of our braces! Hah! Thanks for the funny memory! :)

I love the missed mark... somehow it made it so much more real, and better

I like the thought of missing as a prelude to a kiss. Try again.

"Lips miss their mark"
- oh, I've been there!

This reminds me of my crazy marriage at a justice of the peace. When he said to kiss the bride, I turned my head, he kissed my ear, the JP grinned and that was the foreshadowing of our entire marriage. LOL.

Love the atmosphere of that soft music floating over the mesa.

I love the romantic build up and the missed mark, Annell – a lovely prelude.

Best to have your first kiss (miss) in the innocence of childhood rather than make a flop of it as a young teen.

Ah, the first kiss often doesn't match the star mood of the night sky.
