Issa/writers disgest 2019 April PAD Challenge Day 3
Light gray
Like first rays of morning
A little pink nose
And whiskers upon his face
He has his own cat door
So that he can come and go
As he pleases
Outside is his cattery
Last night he came in
In his mouth
A little mouse
Black and white
He released him
And let him dart about
Said, Look Mom
And I can keep him
He retrieved the mouse
And out he went
This morning
Again, he came into the house
With a mouse
He is good at catching
But I would rather
He play with the mouse outside

Writing Poetry
Writing poetry
A leap of faith
For we know not
The source of the last one
Or if it will come again
Each write an exploration
Each write an exploration
An experiment
A blank sheet of paper
A mind equally blank
No thoughts
To write about
Only a beginning
A new morning… or mourning
The western sky grey
The western sky grey
Reflects my mood
I count the hours…
I count the hours…
The days…
The memory faithful
The memory faithful
Early days of summer
Honeysuckle in the air
Soon enough,
Soon enough,
It will be fall again
The memory persists
The number eight
The number eight
Fishing on a sunny day
The empty chair
The empty chair
The last time
A memory

Sleep Doesn't Come Easy/imaginary gardens with real toads
Sleep Doesn’t Come Easy
I do not know
Cannot say
Sleep doesn’t come easy
For me
Perhaps I have a condition
A malady
I shut my eyes
They pop back open
So, I stay up
Until I must go to bed
Get some rest
I know this isn’t good
For goodness sake
The late hour finds me awake
When I do go to sleep easily
I call that a successful day

Wow! I thought the kitty was the poem! ANd then you wrote another with a different start than the Pink nose, but I added the pink nose to the list of beginnings. I love the sense of being there with you and the blank page. I, too, often don't know where the beginning (and the rest) comes from.
I love the image of that little pink nose, then following him in and out with his trophy mouse. LOVE the poem as leap of faith. You are right. It IS! And the not sleeping.......familiar. I usually wake in the night for two or three hours to read till I get sleepy again. Sigh. Only once or twice a year do I sleep all night.
I can relate to the cat scene! (Please consider doing your own "troll patrols" so Blogger doesn't ruin your blog with Captchas!)
Three wonderful poems. Your muse is awake, though you cannot sleep. I like the idea of the blank page as a beginning that does not know where, how or when it will go then end. Enjoyed all three of these Annell.
All three are a delight to read Annell. I especially loved the Writing Poetry poem.
Yes, three wonderful poems. I so love the cat one. I am away from my cats at the moment and I miss them. What a lovely poetry buffet you given us.
What a glorious trlo of poems Anneell. Cats think they rule the world not us! Okay you are a poet by presenting three poems instead of just one to entertain us.
Luv the 'Leap of Faith' one cannot be timid with the nudge of poetry
much love...
