Reboot, Rewind, Recycle, Rebirth

We reboot, rewind, recycle, rebirth
And we find it is all to be done again
It happens with the landscape
As the seasons change

It happens in our lives
As the seasons of our lives change
I am not sure it can happen at will
Rather it happens over time

We accept what happens in our lives
We grow older
We lose the ones we love
Others behave in ways that are difficult

Perhaps it is all about adjustments
And accommodations
As life takes its hairpin turns
We reboot, rewind, recycle, rebirth

Evening Song

The day slips away
Like sand through the hourglass
The colors become richer
Tiny lights appear in darkened windows

Evening song begins
Suddenly stars appear
Much is lost in shadow
The day becomes magic

The world comes alive
Animals that share our world
Awake
Begin their day

Move silently on pathways dark
While we watch
Strain our eyes to see
Sing the evening song to ourselves

Yes, I think that is very true. The trick is to recognize it and not resist overly much, but enough! Thanks. k.

Ha! You go it! :-

I like the last sentence in this. Indeed, we are always in constant flux.

Nice reading, I like the opening and closing line repetition. You've used some terms I used and some I didn't . I might need another line. The rebirth and the rewind for sure belong where I missed.

BTW, your link at the Garden send to a blog not found error message. But it does have the header and so I figured this would be close to the top. It was, I am glad to have found and read you today.

Another excellent pairing of poems, Annell! The title and repetition of the rhythmic and alliterative ‘We reboot, rewind, recycle, rebirth’ reminds us what life is all about, and this is emphasised with the repetition of the changing seasons in the first two stanzas. I also like the way the poem shifts from general changes to growing older, which is echoed in ‘Evening Song’. The ending of the second poem is wistful, with the eyes that strain to see and singing the evening song to ourselves.
