A Love Poem...or Not/https://www.writersdigest.com/editor-blogs/poetic-asides/2019-april-pad-challenge-day-19/withrealtoads.blogspot.com/Micro Poetry ~ "I am my own muse ..."

A Love Poem…or Not

I have known you long
Loved you the same
The egg fell from the shelf
And broke apart

Tried to fix it
Without success
All the King’s horses and all the King’s men
Could not put it right again

One wonders how these things happen?
I think it is misunderstandings
But if one chooses to misunderstand
What is the answer?

"I am my own muse, the subject I know best."
Frida Kahlo

If It’s Good Enough for Frida, It is Good Enough For Me

Alone I am
Alone I remain
My own muse
Waiting for your return

While waiting
I will hum a tune
Write a line
Fold paper into a bird

Fly away, fly away home
Alone I am
Alone I remain
My own muse

I like these two pieces together. One asks, the other answers. When Humpty falls and cracks, one goes home and becomes ones own Muse. Wise words.

"Write a line, fold a paper into a bird"... I love that - you can feel and picture the writing for the muse...(self) to return...bkm

Yes, the two poems work so well together. Oh muses, they can be delightful or cruel.

I love both poems, and, especially "I am my own muse." As, indeed, we are.

Fold paper into a bird! Let the poem fly away. I love that!
